    Xbox Controller not updating.


    I pluged my USB cord into my controller and Xbox One, and went to Xbox accessories to update it after it stopped syncing.

    I clicked configure, nothing happened. I click update required, nothing happened, I clicked every button on it, and still, nothing happened. Help?

    I was updating my xbox day one controller and the usb cable became disconnected while updating and now the controller will not power on and the xbox does not recognize the controller when it is plugged in via the usb cable. Yes the battery is good and no
    tech support couldn't help. They refused to cover the controller since it was past the 90 day warranty period and said I needed to purchase a new controller.

    controller software update?

    It is just a firmware (software) update to improve/add functionality or patch issues the controller might have. Updating a controller is really not different than updating any other device.

    The controller will have an update occasionally.

    Hi

    Can you please try completing the update using a different USB cable and hopefully it will then complete, If this does not work can you please try following the

    Controller update troubleshooting    tips and this will hopefully help with your problem.

    Update XBox controller support has steps to update the controller firmware.
    It did not say "Start update" or the update is available for xbox one controller.

    Update XBox controller support has steps to update the controller firmware.
    It did not say "Start update" or the update is available for xbox one controller.

    Run it anyway. USB method is my preference. It only takes seconds.
