Xbox controller not recognizing headset after joining party.

I just purchased Astro A10's as of right now as well I just joined the party and the microphone is not working either. This may sound crazy but it dose not feel like the xbox is recognizing them as a headset and treating them like i just plugged in a speaker
to the controller.

Sorry for the issue with the headset. First off the turtle beach are not licensed by Microsoft, they are a third party headset that are compatible with the Xbox. There have been issues with third party headsets not being recognized on the controller/console.
Make sure first that the controller is completely up to date. Can also
try the troubleshooter to see if it helps.

Have you tried to unplug, then plug the headset back in? Also have you tried to leave the party and join back in? Sometimes I have this happen and it is a simple fix. Also if you have a removable mic like myself, make sure you have that plugged in correctly.
The only other thing I can think of is making sure you have the headset plugged into the adapter on the controller properly. If it is not, it will not recognize the headset.

I think this is happening to me. I found a fix for it. Question, do you turn your Xbox one on with voice?

Me, whenever I turn my xbox one on with voice and then turn my controller on to start or join a party, my mic/headset does not work. However when I turn the xbox on with the controller and then start or join a party, my mic/headset works.

Thank you for coming to the forums. There have been reports of third party headsets not being detected when plugging in through the 3.5 mm port. It's still not known if its a hardware issue with the port itself or simply a controller firmware update that
caused the 3.5 mm port to no longer register with certain third party headsets, but this is still being investigated. If the headset works on other devices, then the issue is with the controller's 3.5 mm port not recognizing that headset as compatible. The
only solutions at the moment are to replace the controller and try another one to confirm it's the controller port or purchase an Xbox One Stereo headset adapter that comes included with the
