Xbox controller not pairing/vibrating

Earlier this week, my controller started to have to be paired every time I started the console back up. Today I figured out that I needed an update. I tried the update multiple times, but it just said update error. It got to 95% on one of the updates, then my controller vibrated twice, then stopped connecting fully. Every time it tries to connect, the same 2 vibrations happened then it turned off.

Please can anyone help, my dad seems to think that it’s me and what I’ve done but I’ve been really careful with my controller since I got it for christmas… it’s an Xbox series S

And no it isnt available to be replaced

First, welcome to the Xbox community. I believe that because the update stopped at 95% it is likely that the data has been corrupted. Have you ever tried using your controller with a USB cable to see what happens, if so when connecting the controller with a cable it works normally or does the same problem persist?

Please try the procedure below.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Remove accounts.

Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm.

After removing the account follow the procedure below.

Step 1. Press and hold the Xbox button on the console for at least 10 seconds to open the Power center.

Step 2. Then unplug the power supply from your console and wait for 3 minutes.

Step 3. Plug the power supply back into the Xbox console.

Step 4. Press the Xbox button on the console to turn it on again.

Now add your account again.

Try starting your controller with a USB cable connected to it and the console, then remove once the controller is connected.

Have you tried connecting a different cord?

Sometimes the connection between the controller and the charger don work as expected.

To unpair it, press and hold the pair button on top of the controller for a few seconds until it vibrates twice.

Then, pair it again.

Turn on your controller by pressing and holding the Xbox button.

Press and release the Pair button on the Xbox.

Within 20 seconds, press and hold the controller’s Pair button (a circular button on top of the controller as you hold it in your hands) until the controller's Xbox button flashes a few times.

That means it's searching for a console.

I do not have an xbox, I use the controller on win10 pc. I took out the batteries, reinstalled the xbox accessories, tested the controller with Microsoft's game tester app, everything seems to be ok, exept from the vibration via bluetooth. It seems as
if re-pairing the controller via bluetooth results in using the default profile. Via usb it does not vibrate.

Previous controllers on the Xbox 360 would start to lose some vibration intensity when battery life was low. Have you tried playing again with a fresh pair of AAs?
