Xbox Controller Not Found on PC

So I am having an issue trying to connect my Xbox One controller to my PC. I have tried both USB and Bluetooth as an option, however there is an * for the bluetooth method.

First USB:

Straight up should just work. But the controller doesn't pop up under my device manager. All of my drivers are up to date.

Second, Bluetooth:

I have a Linksys Bluetooth USB adapter, which has worked for me in the past but will now not appear under my device manager either (making it impossible to connect the controller via Bluetooth). Once again, all my drivers are up to date...

Any help leading to this being solved would be very much appreciated, thank you!

I suggest uninstalling the accessories app completely! Every time that it tried to give me a hard time I do this and it works wonders! Here are the steps!

Hello

In order to use the Xbox One controller properly on your PC you'll need to install the firmware which can be found here

support.xbox.com/.../connect-xbox-one-controller-to-pc

Just follow the steps and install and all should be fine

just found the fix. In bluetooth settings, find the 'more bluetooth options' button. click that, and in that section select the tick box for 'allow bluetooth devices to find this pc' . Basically before the pc wasnt looking for the controller, what you
need is for the pc to be found by the controller

Good thought, but this doesn't address the controller not appearing under 'Bluetooth & devices'.

One more detail, when I connect the controller wirelessly to the pc via the Xbox Wireless Adapter. Press the sync button, light blinks rapidly. On PC click 'add xbox controller via wireless adapter. The controller light immediately goes solid, but the PC never indicates it found a device, it just keeps searching indefinitely.
