Xbox Controller Mapping can not be fixed

Discus and support Xbox Controller Mapping can not be fixed in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; Recently bought an Xbox elite that I returned to get repaired.     Xbox Controller Mapping can not be fixed


    Recently bought an Xbox elite that I returned to get repaired. Then Microsoft sends me back a different controller that for some reason will not work on any game, and even the "A" button will both pause the game and open the Xbox game bar. I've checked every setting I have seen so far and con not figure out how to fix it!! I am on PC if that changes anything and connect it via Bluetooth

    Here are some steps you can follow to fix the controls issue:

    Go to the game settings menu and make sure the controls are mapped correctly. Look for the option that allows you to change the function of the left mouse click so that it is used for climbing instead of firing missiles.

    If you're using an Xbox controller to play on PC, check the control settings on the controller itself. You can access controller settings in the Xbox Accessories app, which you can download from the Microsoft Store. Make sure the buttons are mapped correctly and reassign the left mouse click to be used for uploading.

    Elite Controller, no drivers?

    The paddles on the Elite controller can only be mapped through the Xbox Accessories app on the Xbox One or Windows 10, otherwise they default to ABXY. They are mapped through the controller itself, you press a paddle on the controller, the controller then
    sends the mapped command to the PC/Console. Thus they can only be mapped to duplicate other buttons on the controller and cannot be mapped to commands that are "outside" of the regular Xbox Controller inputs.

    Basically they aren't an extra 4 buttons, rather an alternative 4 buttons.

    Also, if they are not responding at all, try double tapping the sync button on the top of the controller. When turning the paddles off, you get 4 short bursts of vibration, when turning the paddles on, you get one longer burst of vibration.

    Mapping more than one wireless controller differently

    Yes you can map each controller differently if you wish. The Xbox accessories app recognizes which controller you have connected at any one time, so will show the the way you have mapped the controllers.

    I believe you can also set this within the Controller App for button mapping. It might be worth setting the game to default and trying to make the change in the Xbox controller button mapping app?

    Make sure you map each controller to a user. Go into settings then kinect/controllers. Select each controller and assign it to a user.

    That hopefully should fix it.
