Xbox Controller Left Stick

I have bought 3 controllers in 2 years. And on all three the left stick stops properly functioning. And on the last 2 its the y axis on the left stick. the exact same problem. and there is nothing i can do to fix it. I even have the box it came in. If anyone
has a tip to fix please let me know.

Xbox Controller layout

i've got big hands and long fingers so i was lucky i could use the left thumb on the left stick and the other 4 fingers doing the rest, on the Ps3 controller. with the position of the left stick on the xbox controller, i cant do that way.

Controller stick squeaks in multiple controllers

I bought an xbox 360 wired controller for pc. After few minutes the left stick started squeaking. I complained. I got a new controller. The new controllers left stick started squeaking after few minutes. My husband has a controller that doesn't have squeaking
sticks. Instead the LT and RT squeak. Is the quality of your controllers always this bad?

I too am having the issue of the left stick moving up on its own. I have all current updates. Tried resyncing the controller to the xbox one and seemed to help for a bit, but started again today. Started doing it yesterday on GTA V. Also happens in minecraft.
So far it doesn't do it at the dashboard.

support about a replacement. In most cases the controllers are only covered under a 90 day warranty but you will need to talk with our support to confirm that. Thanks!

Third lowest on the left would be Caps and toggled via Left Stick (LS). The two sticks on your controller can be pressed into the controller as if they were buttons. Press the Left Stick in and you'll change between caps and lowercase.

Sorry to hear you are running into these problems. Is it possible somebody has changed your controllers buttons? Go ahead and take a look at

Also check within the game settings to make sure that the controllers buttons have not been moved around.

Mine lasts a little more than 1 month. I play NHL everyday. The left stick seems vulnerable to break if you need to push in and hold up/down like you do in hockey 90% of the time. I know it's broken when I push in and rotate it and it starts to click,
the my player get's stuck in one end of the ice.

The is a basic app in the xbox store that can test the controller and I can also see the failure when I use that.

I had to resort to start buying them locally with a warranty but it's a pain to keep returning them so often.
