Xbox controller keeps showing need update

I want to config the buttons of my xbox controller elite 2 on pc. I have downloaded xbox accessories and connect the controller through USB. Accessories shows my controller need update but when I click on update, it shows my controller is already the latest version and it goes into a deadlock that I need update my controller to access configuration but I can't update. That's so weird.

It shows need update,

I click in and it shows no update needed, my controller is already the lastest version.

Back to main page it still shows need update

Did you ever solve this issue?

I've got the exact same problem, and I've tried:
1) Reinstalling the accessories app
2) Using other USB cables, including C-to-C
3) Tried on another PC

Nothing seems to work.

Controller says it needs an update - then seems to apply it in a few seconds and says it's up to date.
Then I close that page and get taken straight back to the landing page telling me my controller needs an update.

I have reinstalled the accessories app several times but it keeps showing the same issue. Also I just had my windows updated several days ago. I think the issue is about the app itself, I did see several online suggestions that updating controller over a console would be the best but unfortunately I don't own a console nor do my firends. I hope the issue could be fixed.

huangze1122, have you tried to reinstall the accessories app? Try it out and try to check for any updates on your Windows OS too.

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available;

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services.

Also, it may sound too simple, but, please,e after you reinstall the app and check for updates for your OS, test to connect your controller using another cable.

Another thing you could try, if you do have a console or know anyone who has one and could lend you a few minutes of usage, please, check for that controller update there.

The firmware for the controller might need updating. Download the pdp control hub app from the Microsoft Store on Windows 10 or Xbox One. That should show you if it needs updating or anything else that might get it working.
