Xbox/Controller Issues

I wasn't quite sure where to put this one, but I figured this issue is more with the console. I've had this Xbox One for about 4 months now. About 3 weeks ago, my controller started turning off randomly, but reconnected within seconds and that was the
end of it. I thought nothing of it.

Starting yesterday however, I faced a most annoying problem. The controller would refuse to connect for more than a minute, and if then only after power cycling the console. Furthermore, the console itself began to disconnect from my wifi, then reconnect
and repeat this process for as long as it was on. This process almost seemed to coincide with the turning off and on of the controller ( when I leave the controller off it has no problems running, from what I can tell). I have no idea what could have possibly
caused this to happen, the console is rarely touched (It's behind my TV, I hadn't had to interact with it since my controller would turn it on and most of my games are downloaded) and the controller has only been notable dropped once, but that was after about
two weeks of having it. A few days ago I set up a wireless printer in my room, but I had been able to play with it on anyways. Any insight?

Hmmm Sounds like you need to update your controller. You can do that and check a few other things that may help you from this link.

Have the same issue. Update did not fix the issue. Now have console freezing issues and have to send this crappy system for repair after warranty expired

 

It's been a few days since I asked the question, so I'll state some of my findings:

@lenzio I had already updated the controller, because that seemed like the most straightforward way. It didn't seem to work however.

I'm still not quite sure what is happening, but I think this problem is more in the console. I've left the console running w/o the controller on and it does the "disconnect/reconnect" cycle. For awhile I got the setup to work by removing the batteries of
the controller and using a USB cable to connect the controller. This worked for about 15 minutes, and sure enough the console began its cycle. I did a factory reset on the Xbox, which let the controller work wireless until I tried to add my Microsoft account
onto the system. Is it my ISP? Or could it be the hardware (unlikely because it's in pretty new condition, no dust buildup or anything).

 

NOTE: I just now got a notification saying "There may be a problem with this system's wireless hardware" which simplifies the ordeal. But how did it get damaged? It hasn't been touched.
