Xbox Controller Issue/Bug

Hi,

When i start up my xbox my controller is connected as per usual and on the surface everything seems to be working correctly however i can do the following

- Cant connect to my xbox account

- Cant select (a) anything on the home screen

the only button that appears to work is the Xbox button in the center of the controller.

I've hard reset by holding down the power button, i've replaced batteries, ive also connected a micro USB.

I'm fairly new to Xbox and my xbox is only 3months old. Can someone help me.

Try a different controller, see if that's works, or try updating the controller in the settings. Sometimes that helps

hold match button on controller and console, reconnect to the console.

Have you tried updating it on i different xbox

I believe it may be that some of the controller “keys” are stuck

if you have one available try a new controller

Hi RainingRoses,

I've followed all the controller troubleshooting (obviously i cant do the connect to xbox live cause of this)

I dont have any issues connecting my controller to my xbox (well i do and dont).

It just does weird things, for example on the main xbox screen where the item you have selected has a green border - it rapidly flashes instead of staying a solid green color

when i press the xbox button on the controller it brings up the menu but again things are rapidly flashing or the menu is completely blank.

the only keys that appear to work are the following: xbox button, and B key to exit menus

i can take a video and upload it to youtube if that would better explain it.
