  1. Xbox controller is powering up but not being recognized by my computer?

I've been using my xbox 1 controller both for gaming and talking with friends on my computer for multiple weeks now and suddenly it stopped connecting to my computer mid session. Now, my controller vibrates when I plug it into any of the usb slots on my computer, and will blink endlessly when I tap the Xbox button on the top of it. I connected it to my xbox to update the controller tonight, I tried downloading Xbox Accessories onto my PC and the app doesn't recognize the controller, I have restarted my computer multiple times with and without the controller still plugged in, and I have run out of things to try.

    :)

Xbox controller is powering up but not being recognized by my computer?

Hi and thanks for reaching Microsoft Xbox gamer's community. My name is Josef.
I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.

Hope you're doing great today despite this Zachary

Just to confirm, is this happening no matter if you try to connect the controller via Bluetooth or USB cable?
If you try connecting your controller with a phone or with a different PC the issue persist or is this happening only with your PC?

    In the meantime try this:

    Reinstall your controller driver:
Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager > search something like Xbox controller category (or similar) > expand the category using the little arrow (">") > select delete/uninstall driver

Click OK, restart your PC and reconnect the controller.

If the issue persists, reinstall - update the Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator driver.

You can do it following previous steps, but now select Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator.

Can take a while, would be great to wait up to 15 minutes before trying again

external hard drive no longer recognized after update

Same here. Since the update (sept 2015) my external is not recognized by the console. Power cycling SOMETIMES helps. This is a bummer, as probably 70% of my xbox one use is accessing content on this drive.

The drive has no problems being detected by a computer.

Xbox On/ Xbox Turn Off does not power on off the television

It won't recognize my BenQ W1070 projector. It will not power it up or down. It will control the volume though.

    Game and controller freezes.

    Hi,

To better assist you with your concern, please clarify the following information:

    • Are you using an Xbox Wireless Adapter to connect your controller to your computer?
    • Have you done any changes on the computer prior to the issue?
    • Have you tried to use the controller on a different device?
    • Did you try changing the batteries of the controller?

We're looking forward to your response.

    Hi.

1 - No its a Xbox one S controller.I'm using it with Bluetooth 4.0 dongle.

    2 - Nope.Nothing.

3 - No.Because there is no device i can try.

    4 - Yep.It didn't fixed it.

This is my replaced controller.I was facing same issue with the old controller and i replaced it from Amazon. With the new controller i re-installed my windows and FIFA.And i don't know why i sent the link of the video but its not shown in thread.

To troubleshoot Bluetooth issues on Windows 10, you can perform the following solutions:

    Solution 1: Restart your controller

    1. Power off the controller by pressing and holding the Xbox button on the controller for 6 seconds.
    2. Press the Xbox button again to power it back on.

    Solution 2: Re-pair the device

    1. Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth.
    2. Select the controller and then select Remove device.
    3. Press the bind button on your controller.
    4. Select the controller and then select Pair.

    Solution 3: Restart your Computer

    1. Select the Windows icon.
    2. Select Power.
    3. Select Restart.

If your computer resources are being used for other activities, it may take up to 2 minutes for your computer to recognize and/or bind your controller via Bluetooth. If you experience a delay with your computer recognizing and/or binding your controller
via Bluetooth, wait up to 2 minutes to see if this resolves the issue.

Let us know how it goes.
