  1. Xbox controller has stopped working on pc as of last month or so... WHY? windows 8 issue?

    Hi,

I have this major problem where my xbox controller is no longer working on PC. wired or non wired. The light wont go on. The pc installs a driver but its not like before. I am thinking it could be a windows 8 issue? wont even work on my bros pc who uses
    windows 8.

I plug it in with the usb cable and all that happens is that it powers the xbox controller which turns on my xbox. It did work on my pc for years. Has anybody had any issues or heard any? I checked some other post in regards to the xbox controller but the
help and vids are from 2012 (old links) . What can i do? can I buy a generic (3rd party) usb hub to use on my pc for the xbox controller? I was going to call microsoft..this is a big problem. Any news on xbox one controller support on pc? I heard soon...

    Help would be great.

    :)

  2. Windows 8.1 not seeing XBox One

I'm having the same issues. Xbox 360 was set up with Play To and worked flawlessly, then stopped working after a couple months. Now I can't add my Xbox One as a Device in Windows 8.1 Pro w/ Media. I'm starting to think it has more to do with Windows 8 than
my actual console. I've tried every solution listed on this thread and nothing has worked. Can't add my Xbox One as a device in PC Settings OR Control Panel, simply does not show up. It used to work with my 360 (wired connection) and stopped out of the blue.
My Xbox One is also wired, if that has anything to do with this. My Xbox One is recognized by Console Name in SmartGlass for Windows however. I feel like Microsoft broke this on purpose.

I can't find the Xbox 360 Controller Drivers anywhere on the website

The Xbox 360 Controller for Windows can be easily installed on any PC that has an available USB port and is running Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, or Windows 7.

Follow the steps here: Set Up an Xbox 360 Controller for Windows | Xbox Live
