Xbox controller has static when playing games

When i plug in my headphones into my xbox controller, i can still hear the game noises and all that, but it has a lot of static in it as well. It is also brand new, being about a week old. I have tried plugging another headphones into it, and it still has the problem, as well as trying both of the headphones on my old controller, and there is no static.

Try looking for a tutorial on youtube where tools used aren’t harmful for your controller.

But if we skip that part, the best option will be start a return process, can be that you received a faulty controller

I have tried the software update but not cleaning the audio jack as im scared of breaking it

May i know if you try checking if there is a firmware update available for your controller via accessories app?

If everything is up to date would be nice do the opposite. Downgrade your controller using tutorial below:

Also, may I know if you already try cleaning the headphone jack?
