Xbox controller got stick drift in less than a year, microsoft wont replace because...

I bought 2 Elite controllers at the same time from Microsoft. Less than 5 months the first one had button issues and stick drift. Microsoft offered replacement. Just sent it and the second started with the exact same problems, LB not working Stick drift
Microsoft says too bad no warranty. 5 months old and $500 for 2 controllers. I have made several requests and keep being told they are not under warranty. Can anyone help?

I'm afraid that Xbox accessories such as controllers only have a 90 day warranty from the date of purchase. If you'd still like to set up a repair you can do so via this link https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-ne....

Once the repair has been set up and you have received the shipping label via email you can pack up the controller. Please be sure to send only the controller and nothing else as Xbox does not guarantee that extra items such as triggers or thumbsticks will be returned.

I've had controllers get stick drift in less than 6 months(looking at you Xbox Day One engraved controller) and others that I've been using for over two years. As much as I love the Xbone controller the failure rate sure seems high.

That's called stick drift and has nothing to do with this firmware issue. Your controller is broken, you can have Microsoft fix it for a fee or replace it. But no software update will fix stick drift.

Unfortunately stick drift is a bane of all of us Gamers. While the Xbox one controllers are much better than previous console generations they can still drift over a few years. I personally get a new controller every year but thats usually because I like
the new designs they put out and I buy them. If its not more than a year old then wear and tear might not be the cause.
