    Xbox controller for microsoft windows not an "official Xbox controller" for Xbox Cloud


    I have an official Microsoft Xbox 360 Wired controller for Windows and Xbox 360 that isn't a valid controller to use with Xbox Cloud.

    It's aggravating because it doesn't get much more Official Xbox and Designed for Xbox than the controller I'm trying to use.

    Thanks for taking the time to reply.

    These are official Xbox controllers and should work with Xbox Cloud. As the other respondent pointed out though, you cant connect a 360 wireless controller via USB, even though it is recognised as a USB device.

    As many people will have old 360 controllers, and Microsoft are pushing Xbox Cloud, it would have been helpful if Microsoft put this in the controller FAQ.

    I also play through cloud gaming on my computer using a Xbox 360 USB controller.

    To see what controllers are supported for cloud gaming, please take a look at this list:

    This list takes into consideration all supported platforms (console, computer, mobile). So you need to search what controllers on that list can be used on Windows. This can be done by searching on the manufacturer's website for the controller driver and Windows support.

    As far as I know, all official Microsoft Xbox controllers have Windows support and can be used for cloud gaming via USB cable or bluetooth. MOGA XP5-A Plus and SteelSeries Stratus XL should work on Windows too.

    When cloud gaming on an Xbox console, any wired or wireless controller that is compatible with an Xbox console will work for cloud gaming on console.

    If you’re using a web browser to play cloud games, the Xbox Wireless Controller is currently the only officially supported controller. Other controllers may or may not work for cloud gaming on a browser.
