Xbox Controller fails after update

Hi,

I have been using my xbox one controller since the console came out, and a couple of weeks ago I was updating it. During the update the controller fell off of my lap and onto the carpeted floor, and the cable appeared to temporarily lose connection. Ever
since the controller has been unresponsive in any way. I am sure that the hardware in the controller is unmounted. How do i go about fixing the controller.

Xbox one controller cuts out/disconnects

Are there any solutions to this issue yet? It seems that after the July update, and controller firmware update, I've started having this issue. The controller will constantly disconnect after 15-20 mins without fail. I've been fine until the last updates.
It's getting ridiculous after a month or so of this issue.

Any solutions yet?

for anyone with controller issues, this popped up in tonight's preview update.
A fix to address an issue for users who find their controller will no longer connect via a wireless connection, and only works over USB. If this has occurred to you, after taking this system update, you will be able to connect your controller via a USB cable and wait a few seconds before unplugging it. This will recover your controller and you will be able to connect wirelessly. It is expected that subsequent controller firmware updates will fail. This will be addressed in a later system update.

If there is a physical issue with the controller after dropping it, unfortunately your best option is to purchase a new one, as accidental damage isn't covered under warranty. If you're just having trouble updating the controller, try removing the batteries
and leave the controller plugged in. It should eventually connect and you should be able to perform the update again.
