Xbox controller doesn't connect to Windows 10

Recently my Xbox controller has been randomly disconnecting from my pc and it turns out that it was due to out of date software on the controller but now however it doesn't connect to my pc at all. My controller doesn't seem to update as I've updated it 3 times on my Xbox and 1 time on my pc and nothing has worked. Whenever I go to connect my controller the light just flashes then vibrates and disconnects. The controller connects perfectly fine on Xbox.

If anyone has any solutions please tell me, I dont want to waste my money on another controller for the same thing to happen.

The Xbox One controller is a plug and play device. If the Windows 10 PC can't detect the controller, it may be due to Windows not automatically updating the controller's drivers. To update your Xbox

The Xbox One console doesn't support Bluetooth. That headset won't work with the Xbox One in any way.

The new Xbox One controllers (the ones that come with the Xbox One S) have Bluetooth, but that's only used to connect the controller to a Windows 10 PC through Bluetooth.
