Xbox controller disconnects randomly from series x when wired headset plugged in.

I'm sorry you are having a hard time with your controllers.

If it's okay, I have some questions regarding your setup.

• Have you also made sure your console's OS is up to date? you can see this by going to Settings > System > Updates.

• Have you already connected your controller to your console via USB cable? I know this defeats the purpose of a wireless controller, I just want to know if the issue persists even if it's wired.

• Are there any external devices plugged into your console?

• Is there a stereo adapter plugged in between your headset and your controller?

• Are you using original Xbox controllers manufactured by Microsoft?

• What kind of batteries are you using with your controllers?

• Which headsets have you tried so far?

Additionally, I'd suggest power cycling both your console and your controllers, like this:

- Press and hold your controller's Xbox button until it shuts down.

- Remove your controller's batteries.

- Press and hold your console's power button until it shuts down.

- Remove all external devices from your console.

- Unplug your console for 3 - 5 minutes.

- Put everything back together and check if the issues persist. If possible, please plug your console directly into one of the wall's outlets.

I am using the original xbox one model

Yes the controller will randomly disconnect by itself. It also turned off when I plugged in one of my headsets.

The controller I mentioned is the normal xbox series controller.

Yes I updated the controller and the problem still continues.

yes on xbox series x. with all controllers. wired headset.

I understand you about the xbox license.

I rather not want to have a wireless headset because I dont like charging and the battery life will decrease over time. So that leave me with two options:
1. Wired, 3.5mm into the Xbox series x controller
2. Wired, usb, into the Xbox series X

I checked the microsoft store and there are only 2 compatible series X headsets. Both wireles.

Do you know any wired Xbox series X headset? That is compatible with the series x? I prefer USB but have to go 3.5mm otherwise.

I am having this issue also. I am using the elite series 2 controller and a wired headset. The wired headset might be part of the problem. Also if you are using 120hz. I read can also be an issue. I am going to try and turn 120hz off later when I get home and see if this fixes my disconnects. It is happening in just about every match in the new Modern Warfare 3 game. If I plug the controller in with usb it doesn't disconnect.
