    Xbox controller disconnects after EHD is plugged in


    Every time I connect my external HD to my xbox (series X), my controller disconnects from the xbox. My xbox and controller have had all software updates. I have had problems with this for about a year. I bought a new usb 3.0 cable and have tried other EHD’s with the same outcome. I have tried moving the EHD further from the xbox and moving the xbox from the location it was in previously. I’ve seen other people have had this issue in the past but did not see any proper fixes listed other then the issues I listed above.

    I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue with your external HD and your controller. Here are some steps you can try to fix it:



    - Make sure your external HD is formatted to NTFS and has enough free space.

    - Try using a different USB port on your Xbox Series X console.

    - Reset your controller by holding the Xbox button for 10 seconds and then reconnecting it.

    - Clear the cache on your console by turning it off, unplugging the power cord for 30 seconds, and then plugging it back in and turning it on.

    - Perform a factory reset on your console, but keep your games and apps. You can do this by going to Settings > System > Console info > Reset console > Reset and keep my games & apps.

    External hard drive and 0x8027025a

    It's works but only if the game is stored in the internal hard drive and if the external hard drive is unplogging, even if the game is not stored in the EHD, if it's plug, it's doesn't work.

    I think my EHD is damaged because i tried to plug it to my computer for format it but Windows don't recognized it.

    I will try to command an another on Amazon and i will see if the problem persist.

    If your Xbox one Controller doesn't work or gets disconnected after you plug in your Stereo Headset Adapter, unplug your adapter,
    and then update your controller without the adapter. After the controller is updated, insert your Stereo Headset Adapter back into the controller.
