Xbox Controller DC during Halo Infinite Gameplay

Hello Microsoft community,

I’m quite frustrated with my gaming experience when using a Xbox 1 controller connected to my Laptop via Micro-USB -> USB. However sometime moving the controller will have the wire detach which is normal, however once I replug the controller in, Halo Infinite does not register the controller again until the game is closed and restarted. This has been causing me to lose multiple matches and I’m wondering if anyone has a solution or has dealt with this issue before. Because optimally I should be able to replug in the controller and resume playing.

Hello Sawyer, unfortunately any USB device that has been disconnected and then reconnect again, goes through the process of hardware recognition and after the system, it is like connecting a flashdrive or any other device on a USB port, and in turn the game or application has to be restarted.

For these situations the ideal is even to acquire a cable controls, this is because the micro USB part of the control was not made to withstand raw movements, and over time can damage and begin to lose contact with the cable.

Usually wired controls are reinforced at this end.

I'm hoping for some halo infinite gameplay and a 2019 release date

There is no doubt that Halo Infinite will be a lot better that Halo 5 in many aspects not just campaign but also the multiplayer gameplay.

Halo is the best game from microsoft in my opinion, it's amazing the gameplay of halo reach, next year will have the infinite halo, just waiting.
