Xbox controller charging from PC but bluetooth connected to Xbox?

I'm attempting to build a clean setup. I'm trying to design a really nice USB tower with clips to hold my controllers on the side while charging. What I want to know is can I have the USB hub plugged into my PC (thus creating a data connection) in order
to charge the controller, while at the same time still be playing on xbox with bluetooth? Could I switch off the automatic data connection via cable from the PC? Could I reconnect the bluetooth after plugging in the cable? Is there any way this could work?

This way can always charge with the same method, ie the USB tower, but I can still choose whether the controller is connected via bluetooth to the PC or xbox. I currently have the Xbox One, which requires the dongle which I have to connect to PC, but I do
plan on getting the Xbox One X when that comes out to reduce compatibility issues with this.

    :)

  2. Controller connected via bluetooth not working on streaming

So I have the latest wireless controller with Bluetooth.

I tried to use it on my Windows 10 Xbox App, the controller is connected to PC via Bluetooth and it is working fine with the Xbox App, because I can navigate through the app with the controller without any problem.

However, it doesn't work with streaming. I connected to my Xbox though the app, but it prompted me with "No controller attached to the PC". If I connect the controller via USB, it works perfectly. Did I miss anything?

    Thanks,

    Eric

Xbox controller charging from PC but bluetooth connected to Xbox?

Hey MaskedNozza! The Xbox One does not have the ability to connect a controller via Bluetooth. If connected to the PC, you will need to re-sync the controller to the console. Thanks!

Xbox 360 Controller to PC Connection???

The USB Cable is used only for charging a controller. Where else, the Wireless or the Bluetooth Device is the way to connect an Xbox 360/ Xbox One controller from your PC.

XBox Elite Series 2 unplugged from PC using USB won't auto connect to Bluetooth

That doesnt make any sense. Why would you design a bluetooth protocol on your own OS that didnt auto connect?
It should auto connect. My controller does.

The only time my Xbox One controller won't auto connect is when I've connected it to my gaming PC via USB to charge the battery. After this I have to re-sync the controller. But I only have to do this for the duration of the battery charge. My controller
auto syncs first time from Windows boot up.

The issue is that the controller has two wireless protocols. It does not use Bluetooth with the wireless gaming receiver, or when connected to an Xbox console.

If your controller won't auto connect then there must be something wrong with your Bluetooth hardware on your PC. Have you tried a Bluetooth dongle to test this out?

XBox controller disconnects from PC or stops responding

Hi Keith, There are two ways to connect an Xbox controller to a PC: with a USB cable or via Bluetooth.

    Connect with a USB cable

Plug one end of the USB cable into the USB port on your PC.

Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on your Xbox controller.

The controller should automatically connect to your PC.

    Connect via Bluetooth

Make sure your Xbox controller and PC have Bluetooth.
    Activate Bluetooth on your PC.

Press and hold the pairing button on the Xbox controller for 3 seconds.

The controller should appear in the list of Bluetooth devices on your PC.

Select the Xbox controller from the list and click "Connect."

Let me know if the information is still useful.

    Sincerely,
    Marvina.

XBox One Wireless Controller Bluetooth on PC

There is the option to charge the controller from a cell phone style charger instead of the PC. That way it is always Bluetooth connected, and never jumps over to the USB connection.

not able to use headphones through 3.5 mm jack connected to xbox one controller when the controller is connected to pc via bluetooth

Is it possible to use the headphones via 3.5 mm jack connected to XBOX controller when the controller is connected to PC via bluetooth?
    Hi,

I'm afraid not, it's a limitation of using Bluetooth to connect the controller to a PC:

    Take from the
    official support link

    Things to keep in mind:

    ·
For best performance, update your controller.

    ·
Bluetooth is supported on PCs, tablets, and laptops. It is not supported on mobile devices.

    ·
Bluetooth doesn’t support attachments such as headsets, chatpads or the Xbox Stereo Adapter.

    ·
We recommend connecting only one controller at a time using Bluetooth.
