    Im writing this as im getting fed up with this issue. Whenever my controller shortfaults (as in reconnecting) regardless if its physically by USB or not, my keyboard will act as if its having its arrow key aggressively pushed down. SO hard that i cant power options. This bug occurs ONLY in microsoft core features like the search bar or the start bar. No other program nor issue exists Im at my wits end because my controllers will shortfault (reconnect) randomly and sporadically and the only known fix is to hard reboot the device by the physical power button as not even Keyboard shortcuts like Alt f4 on desktop popups are also affected

    Ive tried power cycling (Only known fix for the Computer itself, controller doesnt change anything)

    Ive tried updating the controller's drivers/BIOs (through Xbox Accessories, both controllers)

    ive tried resetting the controller's drivers/BOIs to factory settings

    Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game bar, controller driver, and Xbox accessories

    Ive tried updating Game bar, Controller driver, and Xbox Accessories

    ive tried updating the the OS (Only update i have is the option to upgrade to win 11)

    Ive tried rolling BACK the OS (I tried to upgrade to 11 to see if it does anything different problem persists)

    ive tried separate controllers (both do it)

    Ive tried separate USB's (greater than 4+, across multiple USB ports)

    I CANT try safe mood as most of the gaming functions required to properly trouble shoot this issue cannot nor will not boot as defiend by windows policy that i do not have the authority to run full games in there

    Ive tried alternate accounts

    no matter what if the controller flashes AT ANYTIME I am required to hard shut down my device because a phantom arrow key is being pressed even after the controller is forcibly disconnected and powered off so any help as to even why my controller would be trying to reconnect even when physically 'tethered' would be appreciated

    both devices are Laptops:

    MSI Katana GF76 11UE
    MSI GS63 Stealth 8RE

    the issue persists on BOTH the Logitech G915 and default keybaords (Ive even tested trying to turn off my logitech keyboard when this occurs too see if its coming from a phantom game press from it. its comming from something interally)

    The issue will occur randomly when the control needs to 'reconnect' thus my joystick can be in any position. In game there is no issue because the occasional 'controller connected' re-centering/initalization auto corrects for this

    there no real steps to say i will have my controller connected less than 3 feet away from both the bluetooth port or on a 3 foot USB C to C cord the Xbox icon will randomly and sporadically flash like it has lost connection both plugged in and on wireless and then the Start/bar explorer phantom key press will begin but will not be obvious until I try and use something inside the desktop startbar or folder windows

    I often run SFC in admin mode especially after i find that my device has randomly restarted from a suspected scheldued update as ive found windows is notoriously bad about picking up after itself and that was tested as well

    Thanks for coming to the Xbox Forums to share your experience with this problem (and we really appreciate the extensive troubleshooting you have provided). Please report this problem in the Windows Feedback Hub (Win key + F) and make sure you include it in the gaming section. It will also help us further investigate the problem if you include [Xbox Forum] in the title of the bug report.

    A couple of questions:

    • What model of PC are you using (brand, model #, and laptop or desktop)?
    • What make/model of keyboard are you using?
    • Is your left joystick sticking up or down on your controllers? Do they have any scrolling issues in game on any other device (ex. if you also have an Xbox or another device, do the scrolling issues persist?
    • Do you have specific steps to reproduce this issue? If you can provide granular steps that someone else could take to reproduce the problem, it can greatly help in the investigation.
    • Have you tried repairing Windows? This resource discusses using System File Checker tools to repair corrupted system files (I always run this before considering a clean install).

    I can't talk after suspension has been lifted. Xbox one.

    I have a feeling this will NEVER be fixed. What's depressing is they have been working " hard " to resolve this issue since *** December 2014.
