Xbox controller blinks when not plugged in

I was gaming today and my controller was working fine. I walked into the other room with it for 5 seconds to get a drink out of the fridge, and when I got back to my room, the controller wasn't working and was slowly blinking. It now is only working when plugged in. I have tried pairing it again and have tried replacing the batteries. I have also tried updating the controller. Any other suggestions?

I am using it on the Series S.

Unfortunately I don’t have anything else I can try it on

Try to perform a cache clear with the following steps.

1. Press and hold the Power button on the front of your Xbox until the console turns off.

2. Unplug the power cord from the back of your Xbox.

3. Wait a minute, and then plug the power cord back in.

4. Press the Power button on your Xbox to turn it back on.

5. Your cache should be clear at this point.

When my headset is plugged in when I power on my controller it never comes on. The controller just blinks. I have to plug in the headset after the power is fully on the headset. Then it works fine.

Thank you for keeping us updated. Does the Xbox symbol on the console blink when the sync button on the console is pressed? Does the controller light blink when

the sync button on the controller is pressed? Is the console plugged directly into the wall or a surge protector? Which troubleshooting steps have you attempted with the support agents? If the console is plugged into a surge protector, we recommend plugging
it directly into the wall outlet. Be sure to let us know the results!
