Xbox controller batteries and Series X/S streaming support for windows PC

Why do you continue to use disposable batteries to power your controllers when your competitors are now all using lithium and standard charging?

the controllers rinse through 2 standard AA's within a week. I use rechargeables but I expect I'm in the minority on this and you contributing to a vast, harmful, wasteful and irresponsible amount of batteries being disposed of in landfills.

This is now extremely outdated and very harmful to the environment. Not exactly future thinking. I would rather you use a contemporary and green-friendly way to power your controllers rather than steal Sony's fancy new triggers idea which will only drain
    those batteries quicker.

Also when will bring back the basic feature to be able to stream to Windows (or any) PC? I used this all the time with my Xbox One so I could play Co-op games with my flatmates in the same room rather than have to hide away in separate bedrooms to team up.
I don't know why you took this feature out to begin with. **** customer friendliness Microsoft.

    :)

Can a Xbox X controller connect to a 360 Xbox

Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X controllers work on Xbox Series X|S, and vice versa. However, Xbox 360 is on it's own, similar to the OG Xbox.

What's cool however is if you remote stream Xbox One, One S, One X, Series S, or Series X on, say, a PC, you can plug in a 360 controller and use it on the newer generation.

But no, newer controllers aren't supported on 360.

Xbox one S serie controller and xbox one V3 wireless PC dongle

    Hi,

The Series S and X controllers work on same devices the earlier controller can connect to. This includes:

Xbox One Game receiver for Windows 10

    Bluetooth (PC, Android, iOS)

Xbox One, One S, X and Series X/S.

How to Connect xbox 360 controller to pc with play & charge kit

    Hi,

In short, you can't. Unlike Xbox One or Series X|S controllers, the 360 wireless controllers are always wireless. The Play & Charge kit simply charges the battery, it does not send data.

The only way to use an 360 wireless controller on a PC is via an Xbox 360 gaming receiver for Windows.

    Xbox Series X Controller questions

    Hi,

    1. It will work wired and wireless. You can only charge the battery while being wired if you have a battery pack installed. Regular AA re-chargeable batteries can not be charged during play. The official Xbox One X/S battery pack will be released November
10, same as the console. As far as I know the controller does not come with a USB C cable, unless you are also purchasing an Xbox Series X/S console (cable is in the box). Yes, your PC will be able to charge/power an Xbox Series X controller.
    2. Yes, once they run out you'll need to charge the battery. If you need to do this externally (AA batteries), you can connect the controller via USB and power the controller via the cable with no batteries installed. An official Microsoft fully charged battery
is rated for around 30 hours. Re-chargeable AA batteries will vary.
    3. Yes. You can use a Bluetooth USB dongle if your PC does not have BT built into the motherboard.
    4. No. Windows 10 will already contain the necessary software to run your controller. There is an Xbox optional Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 available that uses its own wireless protocol and will allow some extra functionality such as headsets, chatpads,
      and the Xbox Stereo Adapter.
