Xbox controller audio jack doesn't work

Yesterday my xbox one controller's audio jack was working perfectly fine then all of a sudden everything goes quiet, everything is greyed out the audio options doesn't even work, used the same headset and it works on other devices so it's the controller that's the issue, it just all of a sudden stopped working and picking up a headset

You said you have tested the headset on multiple controllers?

But have you been able to test the headset with another controller on the same console?

If you have and it works the your controller will need to be replaced

Let´s first try updating the controller while the headset is connected

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
Under Profile & system, select Settings.
Under Devices & connections, select Accessories.
On the Xbox Wireless Controller screen, select “…”
