    Xbox Controller Analog Stick Problem


    My Xbox Controller left analog stick suddenly stopped working properly. I had not dropped the controller recently, it just started being weird. Whenever I accessed a menu, the selection would keep moving down. I could not move the selection up, it just kept going down. However, in-game is unaffected. I can play games perfectly fine, it is just that when I access a menu such as the Xbox home menu or an in-game menu, the selection keeps going down. My character in games does not move on its own, so I don't know if it's drift or not.

    I have had this problem before. It is caused by the springs in the controller being "soft" or having little resistance to the sticks. This is caused by excesive use of the controller's analog sticks. You may fix this by change the whole analog itself, or
    buying a new controller. Buying a new controller would be better and easier.

    I am having the same problem. My left analog stick is drifting up, and it is getting worse, almost to the point where I can't control it. Microsoft needs a fix, nothing is broken in the controller, seems like a calibration is needed. Is there a way to

    Sounds like your analog sticks are drifting. I went through a lot of controllers on 360 with that problem.
