    So, I'm trying to use the Xbox Game Pass app on PC. However, when I attempt to download a Mature-rated game (I tried on multiple), the app tells me that the game is rated above the restrictions set on my account, which is weird because I created this account
    when I was of age, and I am even older now, and there is no parent account from which to set restrictions on this account, so I cannot lift these restrictions in any way that I can find, as I tried setting up a microsoft family but ended up in a loop that
    just went back and forth between two pages. How can I fix this?

    I'm having the same problem. I created my account well into my 20's, which was a long time ago, and I don't have my account set up as part of a family.

    Please try logging into https://account.microsoft.com/family/ using your Xbox account.

    This page should show whether your account is part of a family or not. If it is, you should have an option to leave the family group.

    If you don't then I think you will have to contact support at https://support.xbox.com/

    You will be restricted from some content, but not all of it. If you don't want to face any restrictions I would suggest creating a new xbox live account that reflects your true age.

    Hello Thicks,

    We understand that you're experiencing an issue concerning finding a way to create content restrictions on your child's account.

    If you follow what Nestor suggested, the system allows you to create an account, and then add a child account to that so that an automatic family is created therefore allowing you access to content restrictions.

    As far as the current account he has, it would be best to gain control of what email they use for that account and what the password is for it.

    Try this out and let us know how this goes.

    It may also be that you're on a child account, perhaps, and you are restricted from creating content/some other parental control.
