    Xbox console stuck on controller screen with controller synced


    Hello,

    My xbox loads to the controller screen with the xbox button flashing on the picture of the controller even though my controller shows its connected with a solid light. If I turn off the controller and turn it back on, when it connects the controller image
    moves to the ABCD buttons momentarily before returning to the flashing xbox button.

    Background: This xbox had software issues and would get stuck on a black screen after the green loading screen, I had to complete a factory reset with USB key to get this far.

    I have tried connecting with USB/micro USB cord, same result as above.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Can't get past controller screen on initial start-up

    Brand new xbox one. Plugged everything in, turned it on. I synced the controller. Then I get to the screen. The controller is already synced, pushing the center button does nothing. Any solutions for this?

    Can't get past 1st setup page

    Hi, whilst setting up an xbox one for a friend, I couldn't get past the very first connect controller page with the big image of a controller with the flashing white x.

    The controller is synced and i've tried it with another, they both sync wirelessly and with an attached usb, but the image stays the same on screen, and sometimes zooms in to the 'B' button on screen and then back to a full size controller image!

    I've tried rebooting with or without a cable, with the controller on or off on reboot, tried a hard reboot, everything but i can't get past the first screen.

    It's an xbox elite console but i'm trying to set up using a plain xbox one controller. Does it need the original controller, I assume this would make no difference?

    Any ideas anyone? Cheers.

    Thank you very much for bringing this issue to our attention. We need a few more details in order to provide the correct solution. Is Xbox is stuck on the initial set up that shows a picture of the controller? Also, have you attempted to use a different
    controller on the console? Have both factory resets been completed on the console? One factory reset will keep games and applications installed on the console while the other removes everything. Be sure to let us know the results

    I can't do a factory reset because I can't get past the screen as described above. Nothing will get me away from seeing the controller on the screen. I know my controller works (on another xbox) and when I turn it on, it will turn on the console but won't
    work.

    Can someone help me re sync my controllers ?

    Sync the Controller:
    To sync a wireless controller with your Xbox, follow these steps:

    Press the Xbox button on the controller to turn it on.
    Press and hold the small sync button on the front of the Xbox Series X console (located near the USB port).
    While holding the sync button on the console, press and hold the sync button on the controller (located on the top near the Xbox button).
    Release both sync buttons when the controller's Xbox button starts flashing. The controller should now be synced with the console.

    If anyone runs into this issue, then do the following.

    With the console powered on, remove the batteries completly from the xbox controller,

    Hold down the power button the xbox until it powers down,

    With the batteries still out of the controller, power the xbox up,

    With the xbox powered up and on the home screen insert the batteries into the controller,

    Now press and release the sync button on the console,

    Now turn the controller on and immediately press and hold the sync button until the controller lights stops flashing. Your welcome.
