    Xbox Console Streaming on Android - Controller Latency 125 ms


    Hi folks

    Just running through the console streaming preview setup. My Android app successfully finds the Xbox and runs through the initial setup tests. Everything comes back OK other than my controllers are showing as more than 125 ms latency, so I can't continue. They also needed firmware updates so I've done that.

    This seems weird, I have one controller that came with the Xbox (One X) when I bought it about a year ago, and the other I only bought brand new about 3 months ago. Is there something I'm missing about this setup?

    My Xbox is using Wi-Fi but I've never had any issues with network latency when using Xbox Streaming on Windows 10 so I don't think it would be interfering?

    Other than that my upstream is 450Mbps so I'm golden there.

    Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks folks.

    Exactly. Xbox one has a high latency built in. Its poor programming at its finest. 360 for me was 50-75. Xone is 100-125. Both wired. All other devices ping at 14ms to similarly distanced servers. Ms just isnt taking care of there people.

    you might have fast internet but it may have high latency with uploading so image quality will be sacrificed (lower bitrate) to allow the controller to work with less latency.

    streaming movies would be ok as they can buffer, you can't buffer a game stream as you have to control the actions in realtime.

    Mine is 102 down and 12 up with 95 latency and I have my console hard linked. It fluctuates though at different times of the day. The highest I've seen it go was 125 down but the upload and latency remained the same. I should also mention that I have Xfinity
    Blast and I'm in Philly.

    No but you are making it over complicated you got two options one sign up for xbox gamepass ultimate and stream to your Android phone

    Or get an xbox wireless adapter for controllers from ms store or your local gamestop or amazon

    Or just get a Bluetooth controller which it can be done but you won't have the full functions of the controller like haptic feedback or analog sticks it would be a gamepad

    Streaming on the console companion on PC is not supported on the Xbox series consoles. Only Xbox One.

    The only platform that you can currently stream from is iOS and Android, using the Xbox app.
