Xbox console says account already exists after removal.

I was receiving an error signing in so i removed my account from the xbox. Now i am trying to re-sign into my account on the console and it says my email and account already exist. Therefore, it wont let me sign in. However, you can’t see it anywhere
or play any games without “logging in.”

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are currently experiencing difficulties with being able to sign in to your account.

For this matter, I would recommend performing a soft
factory reset on your console, as this will remove all accounts and Home Xbox associations, however, as long as you have the email and the password to the accounts that you wish to recover, you should have no problem adding them back on and have them display
correctly on your console.

I recommend using the option that reads Reset and keep my games & apps as this will reduce the amount of time it takes for you to get back to gaming.

However if you trying to delete an account completely there is no way to do this. Even after removal from a console it will still exist and an account.

please try the manual power cycle steps like mentioned on the following link, be sure to wait at least 60 seconds before powering on again:

After that check the profiles on the console, if yours (one with the same email address) is not showing try redownloading it.

Are there any other accounts on the console?

If so sign into those accounts and go to settings and under the account tab go to sign in security and passkey and it will show you what email is associated with that account you are signed into and make sure that the email you are trying to add to the account
is not attached to any of those other accounts.

If you find that it is and you do not remember the email for a particular gamertag but know the gamertag you can contact xbox support by going to support.xbox.com/contact-us and give them the gamertag and they can look up the account attached to that gamertag
and if they can verify ownership of the account they can give you the email address associated with that account.
