XBOX Console on Mute

Turned on XBOX after a few days and the mute mic is lighted up in the upper right corner next to the battery status. There is no mic in use or connected. This affects all items on the XBOX, like HULU, Netflex, etc. There is no sound what so ever. Went
through the the forum process of checking all items and reconnecting controller and still no sound, mute stays on. When i do connect the headset, i can use with no issues playing COD 4. How do i fix the mute issue to use on the XBOX. This has never been
a problem until now.

You may need to Update your controller firmware .
There have been recent releases.

I've noticed that until my controller is signed in with my Passkey, a mute icon appears. Once it has been signed in the mute icon disappears and the headset/mic is normal.

I used to get this all the time i even got a new mic and still got the sign

A power cycle may resolve this issue for your console.

Here’s how:

Turn off your console by holding the Xboxbutton on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.
Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xboxbutton on
your controller.

The only alternative I can think of is to turn on Push to Talk so the stream always hear you, but the party only hears you once you press the talk key.
