    xbox wont come off mute despite buying new headsets & trying different controllers and adapters. There is a mute icon in the top right corner of the screen and i dont seem to be able to change it. We've reset the
    console & revised all relevant settings suggested in any of the communities or help articles. I see this appears to be a common problem when I Googled it as - its not a game or party setting issue . I raised this question on a thread that was a month old
    and it was just shut down so raising again here. Please don't advise me to buy a new controller or look at the settings, (I have both) and if I'm buying anything at this point it will be a palystation. The mute icon is permanently displayed in the top right

    You may need to Update your controller firmware .
    There have been recent releases.

    I've noticed that until my controller is signed in with my Passkey, a mute icon appears. Once it has been signed in the mute icon disappears and the headset/mic is normal.

    A power cycle may resolve this issue for your console.

    Here’s how:

    1. Turn off your console by holding the Xboxbutton on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.
    2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xboxbutton on
      your controller.

    The only alternative I can think of is to turn on Push to Talk so the stream always hear you, but the party only hears you once you press the talk key.

    Hello, with an adapter that is applied to the remote control at the bottom gives you access to mute volume up and down, greetings.
