    xbox console does not see new gamertag


    I paid to get a new gamertag. My xbox does not see the new gamertag. What do I do??

    If the X1 uses the same mechanism as the 360 with one licence to the Gamertag and one to the console ID, how does changing the Home Console option affect the console ID licence?

    Gamertag doesn't appear to change in Party Chat.

    All you have to do is delete the friends that cannot see your new gamertag and re add them. They will then be able to see your new gamertag. This is the only fix for this. deleteing and re downloading does not work.

    Does seem very strange. However a gamer tag is attached to an account itself and not a specific console, so resetting a console shouldn't have any affect on an accounts gamertag.

    As mentioned above i'd definitely reach out to xbox support.

    You can try testing by signing her in and then you sign in on another console or xbox app on your account, and see if she appears online under the new random gamertag or her old one.
