xbox console connection to windows 10 laptop?

That will not be possible as you need to set up the connection still in your current place because the console and the Laptop need to be connected on the same internet connection.

are you saying that I can't set up my laptop without a monitor also? That will probably stop my in my tracks straightaway. I don't have the room in my one room to have a tv/monitor as well as my laptop. Unless I can get my hands on a teeny weeny one second hand. When I looked online for this issue, I got the impression the advice was always assuming you already had the console set up on a tv monitor to be able to then set up on a laptop.

Just a friendly reminder though that it will not be possible without the Xbox console. With Xbox Console Companion, we can stream our Xbox Console from there which requires for the Xbox to be turned on.

as yet I don't have a console. I am looking at possibly buying one if I will be able to utilise it to some degree. A refurbished xbox one x most probably. Hence why I am trying to find amongst the xbox community if anyone has already attempted this and how it went. I am living in a hostel, provided by the hospital I work for, and therefore only have access to wifi, which many residents also share. Not good for a gaming experience I acknowledge. But I am so missing my gaming time, after a stressful day in theatres. My own xbox/tv/accessories/etc are in storage and my stay there for some time given the housing situation where I am. I really would like to find the most optimal way to play some games, only having a windows 10 laptop, a Surface Book 2, i7.

If this is a stupid idea, then I hope the community can tell me so, and I wont waste my time and money buying another xbox console to tide me over till I manage to find a home and get everything out of storage.

I have the xbox companion app on my laptop, I will ask at the store when I go to check for refurbished xbox's about a capture card. I'm trying to find the best possible solution, but am aware my situation is not optimal.

I do appreciate your response and help on this issue. I am especially trying to find a way to continue playing my most favourite game - ESO, but think this will not be achievable on my laptop in a hostel environment.
