Xbox Console Companion wont connect to my Xbox One Day One

So this might be a stupid question but is everything on the same network? if so then is everything over wifi or connected via lan cable, I think sometimes having one device on wifi and other on cable can cause a bit of an issue (its super random but happens).

Then another thing is, is the IP for the xbox a static IP or a automatic one? if it is automatic try setting a static one to see if that fixes the issue.

Another thing would be to just check which version of the companion app you are using, i doubt that would actually make a difference but its better to just check all areas.

I'm guessing the box must be keeping some settings in the cache or similar that conflict with the updated app.

I tried your suggestion last night to no avail also tried master resetting both the PC and xbox with no luck. However is able to get them to connect today by taking my setup to a friend's house I however don't know if it will continue to work once im back
on my home network
