  1. XBOX Console Companion, Streaming/Log in Problem

    Hello Everyone

I am having a problem with my XBOX One and the Console Companion. The problem started today after the XBOX Update.

I cant start a stream anymore from my Console Companion App, i always get the notification that "To continue, please log in on your console". Now of course i did that, i am logged in with the same account as on the Companion App, i even logged out of both places and logged back in numerous times. I reset my password and restarted both my PC and Console multiple times. I even reset the settings on the XBOX about streaming and put them back up.

I am not sure what else i can do. The XBOX is in a place where i cant use it unless streamed to my PC. With difficulty i can connect it to a monitor to see what is happening if the connection doesnt work but i cant get anywhere with this.

    Anyone any idea?

    Thanks for helping

    :)

    Hello Lucas

Thank you for your help. I tried your steps with repairing the Xbox App and the Companion App, but the Companion App is not repairable. So i reset it. And it worked! After resetting i started the app, interestingly i didnt have to sign in after resetting but the streaming works now.

I hope this will help other people as well.

Hello, CptSystemKiller. Thanks for reaching out! My name is Lucas, and I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user just like you. I'll be happy to assist you today.

Apparently this issue started affecting some users since yesterday:

Would you please double check if you are connected with the same account on Xbox App, Xbox Companion App and your Xbox One console?

If you're connected on the three apps with the same account, please try this:

Go to Start > Settings > Apps & Features > Apps > Search for Xbox App and Xbox Companion App > Advanced Options > Repair. Do the repair for both the Xbox App and Xbox Companion App.

Also, perform a Power Reset on your console, please:

    Power Reset:

    1. If you have an external HD, please unplug it and let it unplugged for testing purposes.

    2. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

    3. Unplug all the cables (power, HDMI, etc..) and wait 5 minutes.

    4. After 5 minutes, plug all the cables in again (except for the external HD) and then turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console.

Restart your computer and login on Xbox App and see if you can use Xbox Companion App without this issue.

If it doesn't work, you can try to wait for an update from Microsoft, or you can submit a feedback to inform Microsoft developers about the bug:

    - Go to Start, search for Feedback Hub.

    - Enter the details of your issue/the bug.

    - Press Submit.

If you have any other question, please let me know.

using my HP laptop as a tv

You need to stream your console to your laptop (Has to have Windows 10) with The Xbox Console Companion app. Start the Xbox One, then start the Console companion app, then select the connect icon on the left side of the app, and your console should show,
just select it, and select stream, that will then stream your console to your laptop.
