Do you measure the ping with the Network settings test in the console, or is that a ping shown in a game?

Be aware that game Ping also depends on other players hosting the match. If they have a slow internet connection, or are far away, the ping goes up for you as well.

If you get high ping during the console's network test, try doing a speedtest on your PC, selecting a speedtest server close to Seattle or Redmond (USA Washington State).

If the ping is high during that test as well, you might have to talk to your ISP if they have routing issues.

You are complaining about your WiFi, but stating you have a high ping. Ping has nothing to do with your WiFi connection between your console and the router.

Ping is a calculation of the time it takes for you to recieve a response from the server you're connected to via the internet, the signal strengh of your home network is not part of the results from a test for Ping.

If you're suffering high ping, you need to speak to your ISP.

on console you are connecting through xbox live, on pc you are connecting direct to the game servers. xbox network is quite bad for a stable connection.

Usually high pings can be caused by DNS Settings or which port you are using to connect to Xbox. You can try to change your DNS and Ports Settings.

For DNS:
Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select Settings.
Select All Settings.
Select Network.
Select Advanced settings.
Select DNS settings.
Select Manual.

Try to use these 2 DNS Settings and see which one gives you a better result:
Primary: 1.1.1.1 / Secundary: 1.0.0.1
Primary: 8.8.8.8 / Secundary: 8.8.4.4

For changing the port Xbox uses to connect:
On your Network Settings > Advanced Settings, choose Port Selection (or Alternate Port Selection), choose Manual. Then, try choosing each one of the ports and play with them. See which one gives you a better Ping.

After changing DNS and Port, you can also power cycle your console:
- Press the Xbox power button for 10 seconds, until it completely turns off.
- Remove all cables from it (power cable, HDMI, external HD) and wait 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes, plug all the cables in again and turn your Xbox on.

These steps should give you a better ping and connection overall.
