xbox console companion how to link a screenshot to a certain game?

Hi Hi

I've just got into posting screenshots on my xbox console companion activity feed,

I prefer to take screenshots through steam then put them in my Captures folder and upload them to my xbox console companion activity feed, but I have noticed doing it this way, the screenshot doesn't tag the game the screenshot came from, it will just say
unknown game.

Is there anyway to add the game tag to the screenshot if it was taken outside of windows game bar so that when it is uploaded to my xbox console companion activity feed that it show the game tag?

Hi Dem Alesis,

Thanks for your post. Unfortunately, there is not a way to associate external screenshots with games when uploaded through the companion app. The screenshot must be taken via game bar or on an Xbox One to have the game associated with the capture. Since
Steam is another platform, it's game data that associated with screenshots will not show on the Xbox console companion app.

Big big big shame you can not add the tag, maybe it's a feature microsoft could add one day lol!

Guess I will have to start taking 2 screenshots of everything >.<

I was able to get older screenshots to load on my Xbox by sorting the results by screenshots and games, but the older screenshots still will not show up on the Windows Xbox console companion or Xbox app.
