    using my HP laptop as a tv

    You need to stream your console to your laptop (Has to have Windows 10) with The Xbox Console Companion app. Start the Xbox One, then start the Console companion app, then select the connect icon on the left side of the app, and your console should show,
    just select it, and select stream, that will then stream your console to your laptop.

    Streaming por HDMI

    Hi Jos158,

    Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. I'd be happy to answer that.

    Unfortunately you cannot plug in the Xbox One into your laptop and use the laptop as a display. Also there is no app or program that would convert the HDMI port on your laptop to an input source rather than an output source.

    Your only option would be to use the game streaming through the Xbox Console Companion app. I would re over these two support articles on how to improve streaming:

    I hope this helps!

    To continue, sign in on your console using this account.

    I've been having the same issue. Xbox Console Companion prompts me to "sign in to the account on console" -- streaming through the App has been fine for ~1-2 years.

    I'd tried signing out / in to my account on the Win10 PC, the Xbox App, Xbox Console Companion App & the console itself, clearing the cache, restarting, etc. with no resolution.

    After re-signing in to the Companion app at one point & attempting to select stream, I got a different error "Can't stream because either the Xbox app or your console needs to be updated. Make sure they're both up to date and try again."

    Now, everything was already up-to-date (and I did run a check to verify);

    console OS version 10.0.22000.4558 (May 12th update)

    Companion App on 48.88.11001.00000 (not sure when that last got updated)

    I'd been streaming fine 2-3 days ago I believe, certainly since the last updates.

    I found it interesting that the error referenced Xbox App instead of Companion App, so swapped over to the Xbox App (which was also on the latest version) & noticed it now has a Remote Streaming option (the little console icon with signals above/below it between the account name & notification bell in the top left, for anyone interested in trying)

    The streaming option in the Xbox App works. With the very first launch of it from the app, it required me to "Accept" on the Xbox console itself.

    A year or so ago this app didn't have the option -- so, I guess to Ricardo or anyone else in-the-know;

    1) Was the streaming function of the Xbox App added within the last few days, when the issues with the Companion App started to arise?

    2) Could the requirement of having to "Accept" the Xbox App's first stream request be why the Companion App doesn't have the account authorization on the console side anymore?

    3) with the inclusion of the streaming function in the Xbox App, is the intention for the Companion App stream function, and the app itself, to be phased out? (I believe the Companion app hadn't been getting updates since the launch of the Xbox App, with the intention it'd eventually overtake it)

    As far as I can tell, the streaming function of the Xbox App is essentially the same, so I'll be using it for the time being.

    No worries if you don't have the answers - just glad I'm able to remote play again, hope it helps others!
