xbox console companion app removed from microsoft store

Not sure why the app itself was removed from the microsoft store as when i tried to search for it, there were no relevant results

And when i tried to search for xbox console companion on the microsoft web store, it instead appeared. Then i had to download the app from the web store itself, but im unsure whether its safe to do so or not.

if that was the case, why did the xbox console companion app still showed up in the online microsoft store, in the 2nd picture

yep was discontinued along with the rest of Windows 8 in january

you've been supposed to use the Xbox app built into windows 10 since 2015

As i mentioned, please install the launcher from the Microsoft store app

Log in the Xbox app and console companion app

Thanks for trying, Brett! Try to remove/re-add the account again. Please select the Start button > Settings > Accounts , then find the Microsoft account you used to sign in to the Xbox app and select Remove. Then go back to the Xbox app and sign in with the Microsoft account you just removed.

Kindly also close the Xbox app then check if you can sign in to Xbox console companion app: https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/xbox-co.... If you don't have this app installed, download the app using the Microsoft Store on your Windows. Then open the app, log in with your account, open the Xbox app and see if that resolves the issue.

Thank you so much for that, Andrew. Would it be okay if you install the Xbox Console Companion and sign in from there as well?

Simply search "Xbox Console Companion" on Microsoft Store App.
