    Xbox Console Companion app is opening the Windows store when I attempt to join someone in...


    I have Minecraft installed, the companion app even recognizes that I have the game in my library.

    When I attempt to either join a friend currently playing or click 'play' on a realm page, the only available options I have are the Windows store. I click on the store and it brings me to Minecraft where it prompts me to either start a free trial or purchase the game.

    Am I not attempting to join a realm correctly? If not, does anyone know how to fix this?

    Your Microsoft store account is different than your Xbox account

    Opening the Xbox Console Companion app fixed this for me, thank you. It would always prompt me to open the new Xbox app, which I'd do, and it'd display this problem. However, if I ignored it and continued into Xbox Console Companion, it prompted me to sign in there, which succeeded, and that removed the flashing window in XBox app and the repeated mix up of store account.

    Incidentally it was also the solution that let me then sign into Mincecraft on PC.

    Hey, thanks for responding! Unfortunately, this also did not work for me :( The Xbox app now rapidly opens and closes the login screen when I attempt to log in, and the console companion app is giving me error code (0x409) 0x80131509.
