Discus and support Xbox console can't see local server via wifi or LAN connection in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I'm hosting the offical minecraft bedrock server on a local PC.     Xbox console can't see local server via wifi or LAN connection


    I'm hosting the offical minecraft bedrock server on a local PC. I do not have xbox live but thought I could still play when everything is on my local network. I should be able to see an add server button but don't see that option. I've done this before and it would automatically populate.

    is your console connecting via lan or wifi, if by wifi can you connect by using 2.4ghz as this sometimes works.

    So this sounds as the your Smartglass device is not connected to the same network.

    It has to be connected to the same network (lan) as the one. Having your Smartglass device connected to the Internet (wan) via your mobile provider is not working. It's only working if connected via WiFi to the same local network (lan) the one is connected
    to,, no matter of the one is connected wired or wireless.

    How do I determine which MAC I need? Because ipconfig /all gives a bunch of different physical addresses and I'm not sure which one to pick. I connect to the school's internet via WiFi, not Ethernet. Not sure which physical address/MAC is the correct one.

    The options I have are: Wireless LAN adapter Local Area Connection* 12, Ethernet adapter Bluetooth Network Connection, Wireless LAN adapter WiFi (I think it's this one), Ethernet adapter Ethernet, Tunnel adapter 6TO4 Adapter, Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection*
    2, Tunnel adapter isatap.wireless.umass.edu...

    I'm pretty sure it's the Wireless LAN adapter WiFi but I'm not sure. Thank you guys for the response. Keep the help coming!

    Are your devices on the same local network when you initially try to set it? And is the console set as your Home Console? I'm not certain if Home Console designation factors in, but I remember not having an issue when they were connected on the
    same local network.
    Yes both are on the same network, don't recall right now if my Xbox is on WiFi or LAN, but Android is on WiFi. Home console is set to this one.
