    gift card and code issues     support page link.

    Can I ask did you buy from the Microsoft store or from a different retailer. If it is a different retailer, go back to them and make them aware immediately there is an issue with the card.

    Hello, I read your question, and I believe I understand your situation. The Xbox Ambassadors are here to help.

    I have seen this situation a few times since Christmas in these forums. I myself had this happen with a prepaid cell phone. a lot of times when these gift cards do not get scanned at the register properly they are not activated, this is to deter theft and
    fraud.

    If you purchased it from the link provided, and you have proper proof of purchase, might I suggest exchanging it.
