Xbox Connetion Slow

I have been experiencing an Issue where my connection speed is constantly lower than 5mb down on my Xbox and in most cases is less than 1mb. My Xbox is hard wired to modem. Everything else in my home is running 170mb+. I have Comcast Xfinity service at 200mb
down. Comcast has replaced the modem twice and recently, completely rewired all the cables in my home. All of these issues started roughly a month ago. Before that time period I had no issues and connection speeds were 170+ on my Xbox.

Troubleshooting steps completed as follows:

Hard reset modem

Hard reset Xbox

Tried Multiple Ethernet Cables

Port Forwarded Xbox

Tried Connecting Wireless ( Same speeds as wired )

Used Ethernet cable on my PC and Playstation and received 170+ downloads.

I am at a loss I don't know what else to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry to see any speeds issues!

We've been seeing other reports of this, and got it spun up to the right teams last night. They believe the issue to be resolved, or at least recovering, at this time. The biggest issues we saw were people downloading Ghost Recon and Call of Duty games.

Speeds should be improving. If you attempt to download these games and are still seeing slow speeds, let me know. If you are downloading other games and seeing consistently slow speeds, also let me know that.

On a personal level, I also have Comcast, and was seeing some slow speeds earlier this week. They were improved yesterday, so the issue might be resolved; however, I understand that just because I'm not seeing it doesn't mean you aren't.


One thing I don't see you mentioning trying is changing your DNS. To help determine if it's Comcast or something on our end, you can always change your DNS to manual, and set it up with an Open DNS server. The easiest one is setting your primary to 8.8.8.8
and your secondary to 8.8.4.4. If your speeds don't improve after that, it could be either the console or something else on our end.

Download some things, try the DNS settings, and then post back with your results. We'll work to get this sorted!
