    Xbox Connected To Monitor Via HDMI


    I want to be able to have my headset plugged into my computer. Yes my computer tower I've seen a lot of people plugging their headset into their monitor. I have my headset connected to my pc using a usb cable. And I have my xbox connected to my monitor using a HDMI cable. I have a audio in out cable connected from my monitor to my pc to send audio to my PC. And I found out that HDMI cables can also transmit sound. So I'm trying to find out how to be able to hear my Xbox audio while having my headset plugged into my computer? It happened once but I could only hear it for 5 seconds and I can't figure out why it happened or recreate it.

    The Xbox One S will run at 4K if the monitor does 4K@60Hz. When connected via HDMI, the HDMI port on the monitor must be at least version 2.0.

    According to the product sheet, you should be able to get 4K@60Hz if you connect the Xbox to the HDMI 2.0 port on the monitor.

    The other two HDMI ports, "HDMI 1.4" and "HDMI 1.4(MHL)" will not support 4K@60Hz, and the Xbox will likely default to 1080p.

    I'm saying that HDMI to displayport adapters are pointless to use, and if you were to use one , you'll still only be getting 60hz.

    you want to connect the HDMI port of the Xbox console to a HDMI port on the monitor or TV for the best outcome,

    because the Xbox One X does not have a displayport on the console, you can't go displayport to displayport,

    so the only choice is HDMI to HDMI, i personally would not go HDMI from the console to displayport on the monitor via an HDMI to displayport adapter,

    when connecting to a monitor it's best to go straight...

    HDMI to HDMI

    or

    Displayport to Displayport

    never

    HDMI to Displayport via an adapter.

    Are you attempting to connect an xBox console or a controller?

    If a console then it isn’t possible unless you have a HDMI in connection either on the laptop or a monitor - on a laptop the HDMI is just for connecting to an external monitor.

    To connect a controller then connect either via Bluetooth or plug if wired plug in to a USB socket.
