Xbox completely shuts down when turned off with controller

so basically when i use my controller to turn my xbox off when i turn it back on its like it shut down

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. In your case the console basically went into sleep mode. Personally have shut my console off with holding the Xbox button on the controller and going to turn off console. When I turned the console on again, it was at
exact same spot in game. This is also like I sleep mode. The only truely way of shutting it down completely is when you tap the Xbox button go to turn off console, or by holding the power button on the console until it shuts off.

If its wired move the wire around under the controller (once you end up having to turn it upside down to play) then tape it when the controller turns on, this will help it for around 4 weeks then just shut off completely as it did to me just today.
