Xbox companion app not working after fresh windows install

Hi, so I just upgrade the motherboard, cpu and Ram in my pc and restored my back up of my previous save files to my pc when I try to use the companion app now all that seems to happen is ill join the party and for a quick second Ill hear them but then
all audio in the app disconnects I still can hear sounds with other apps idk how to fix this issue if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it thanks.

When i had this problem previously it was to do with toredo not being installed I'll try and get a link but you should be able to find a how to on google

try the xbox companion app instead, not the xbox app but the older companion app, its already installed on windows 10 or if windows 11 can be downloaded from the store, usually works fine that way.

if you had games listed in companion app they then you either streamed from an xbox or they were installed via the windows store, if the game is not listed in the xbox app then download from the windows store.

you can install the companion app from the windows store too.

The only thing that worked for me was a fresh windows install(you have to install all your games again). I tried every tricks in the book that i know off and the only thing that worked was a fresh windows install. Halo mcc works perfecktly after that.

did you upgrade or did you do a fresh install, if a fresh install then as the windows games are placed in an encrypted folder this breaks as it is tied to the one install of windows, you would need to re download the games if that is the case.

if upgraded then they should still work ok and are located under the xbox app in the library.
