Xbox Companion App microphone not detected whilst streaming

So I've been using the Xbox Companion app on Win10 to stream my Xbox to allow me to have audio from my PC and from my Xbox going through one source. Unfortunately the app won't pick up my mic even though I can hear everything and everyone fine. I tested to see if the app would pick up my mic through party chat on the app and it did so it seems like it's exclusively an issue with streaming.

I use a USB headset into my PC and I use the controller wirelessly connected to the console and have no way to connect the controller to my PC. Everything is up to date. I've restarted everything.

This has been a problem for about 6 years now and there hasn't been a single working fix

Thanks but it really didn't help at all especially seeing as party chat through the app works fine so clearly it's already set up correctly.

Are you minimizing the Xbox console companion app while using to stream your Xbox to it?

Why are you wanting to stream your xbox to the laptop?

Are you running anything else on the laptop whilst trying to stream?

What specifically doesn't work? The stream audio or the party audio?

Was that not covered in the OPs post?

Seems to me that the OP is playing using the Remote Play function but the Microphone doesn't work when in a party chat whilst using the Remote Play. the Mic works fine when directly connected to the Xbox or used via the Xbox App

Thank you for your post. I understand you are experiencing an issue with setting up game streaming from your Xbox One to your Windows 10 PC. If your Xbox app does not detect the console on your network, you'll have to obtain the IP address from the console.
The IP address of a console can only be obtained by viewing it in the console's settings or via your router's connected devices list if available. For information on streaming, check out: Using the
