Xbox Companion App Error Code 0x409 0xD000000D

Hi All,

I'm hoping someone can help me out with this error code that I'm getting when I try to open my Xbox Companion App. I spoke with Microsoft on the phone and they had not heard of the 2nd extension of the error code, 0xD000000D. They suggested running msconfig
and changing the boot to normal startup, which didn't work. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. They suggested I come here for help. I have attached a screenshot of this error. Can anyone suggest anything? Thanks for your help.

I have the same error and tried the method, reinstalled the app and still have the same(0x409) 0xD000000D error

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that you are receiving error codes when starting up the Xbox Console Companion App. We recommend making sure that

Windows 10 is up to date. Also, you can try installing the
Xbox Identity Provider application. After you install this application, go ahead and start up the Xbox Console Companion App. Be sure to let us know the results!

Hi,

I did the clean boot, but the Xbox app still doesn't open. Any ideas where I go from here?

Hi Spada,

Thanks for the updates on your issue. We recommend to try this steps and see if it helps.

a) Press the ‘Windows + R’ key on the keyboard.

b) In the ‘Run’ window type ’MSCONFIG’ and click ‘Ok’.

c) On the ‘General’ tab, click the ‘Normal Startup’ option, and then click ‘OK’.

d) When you are prompted to restart the computer, click ‘Restart’.

My computer is fully up to date. Also, installed the Identity Provider Application, but nothing changed when trying to login.
