xbox.com & games with gold (pre paid)

i have xbl gold, but dont have a credit card associated with my account. (pre paid)

this creates problems when trying to download GwG from xbox.com's website. not to keen on having funds pulled from my account, whether theyre there or not, hence the perma switch to pre paid.

basically it wont let you DL anything (even if its "free" ) unless you have a card linked to your account & its ridiculous, gold or not.

dark souls is a perfect example here.

instead of queing it from the website, i had it physically log into my console, download a huge update for my console, & then DL the game, which took about 2 hours out of my busy day.

why cant we simply que things from xbox.com, w/o having a card linked to our account?

You can do Xbox gold subscriptions with either pre-paid cards (ranging from 3-12 months) or by using your credit card or paypal on your console or on Xbox.com. So to answer your question yes you can get her a Gold subscription..

 

It's becasue the website hasn't been updated yet to use your Microsoft account credit as an option to pay for content. Once they they update it, then you will be able to download from the website without being charged on your credit card.

 

Not a single Microsoft official ever told that this issue exists and that they will fix it! So, Ι wouldn't expect this issue to be resolved, as they seem unable to do so! You have to purchase through console for the time, and probably forever! Shame for
a company like Microsoft!

its better to purchase thru the console anyways as the correct pricing for your region and description would be given

rather then the generic us one unless you change the locale of the webpage

and you would see content for your region not the us region

 

pricing and sales and promotions are region based

so going to the us website wont help

at least with the console you can see promotions and sales and pricing based on your region

 

The website shows local pricing when you try to purchase something! It doesn't matter which country you have selected for the site to use, when you procceed to the purchase screen, it always shows based on your actuall region! So if I have United Kingdom
as my website region, but Greece as my actual region, the site may show £ X GBP but when I procceed to the purchase screen it will show Y €. In addition, different pricing ect, is not an excuse for not letting us use currency to buy through the site! For
example lets say I'm on vacation or my console is sent for a repair..Why shouldn't I buy my free games with gold or any of the other sales? This is total madness!!

P.S. Could I please have a link to where a x lvl forum support and forum support acknowledged the issue?

But You wouldnt have the accurate pricing

If younwant the games for gold its simple add a payment option

If kids is an issue time to start practicing parental controls

 

all b.s. aside, purchases are one thing, being able to que free games from microsofts website is an entirely different matter, imo.

Just sayin', coding a website is hard enough, let alone completely overhauling the back end billing system connected to it and many other linked services(Skype, OneDrive, WindowsPhone, etc.). Additionally, with the launch and nurturing of a new console,
I'm sure there are many other priorities much higher than using the currency stored on your Microsoft Account for a MINOR convenience. For now, if you want to buy/add games to your queue, add your card then remove it immediately after the purchase. Additionally,
the console update was in no way related to having to make the purchase from the console, it was merely a coincidental delay. You would have had to wait for the download either way unless you left your console on and signed into your profile the entire time
you're away, which with a recent update is unlikely since auto off is on by default now. However, I digress as I am now going on a tangent.

It's not MINOR, when most users do not have a credit card attached to their profiles! It is actually affecting a huge amount of people and should be priority 1 year later! I agree that coding a web site may be difficult, but no one forced them to the currency
update! If they can't get it working, then they shouldn't remove MSP before they were ready! So, again, it's their fault! I loled at ect it was a typing error hahahaha!
