    So I bought two $50 codes from a store today and I discovered each one only has 20 characters instead of 25. The store told me I had to contact Microsoft to get replacement codes. However, phone chat is unavailable and I get no option to contact them by
    web chat. What am I supposed to do?

    Please be aware that there is some needed maintenance going on with our services, so we're going to give you the best option for requesting a chat at this time.

    From the MS Contact page here https://support.microsoft.com/contactus/, click on Contact support in the browser instead & type the following into the virtual agent chat:

    Chat > when it asks you to select your product, choose Xbox > Select your issue, choose Payments & purchases

    You should see the option for a chat & we strongly recommend you select it. We tried this out & the chat option is still there, and they'll be able to help you with getting everything set up.

    You have to follow thier instructions

    Which they usually give you in an email or a website when you make the purchsse

    Since its not an xbox code you need to talk to the vendor

    Xbox codes are 25 characters

    Not 20

    Anything different is vendor specific

    Hello. I was wondering if anybody could help me. I bought a $50 Xbox gift card which I always do but this time it only had a 20 digit code in the back instead of a 25 digit code so I am having trouble redeeming sense when I try to redeem on my Xbox it
    doesn’t work because not enough characters and when I try to redeem online at Microsoft.com/redeem it asked me for 25 digits but I only have 20.
